Nissan GT-R LM testing location?

I've seen a few articles make mention that the Nissan LMP1 program is testing the GT-R LM in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and just yesterday RACER specifically said that it is testing "on the Chevrolet test track at Bowling Green, Ky., this week ...."

Now I'm not that familiar with road courses in the Bowling Green area, but the only one I for sure know about is the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park (pictured above), which is across the interstate from the Corvette Assembly Plant and the NCM.

So it seems reasonable to assume that Nissan is doing their shakedowns at the NCM track. Does it really matter? Probably not. But I find it fascinating that a major racing program is doing testing across the street from a competitor's factory* — especially with all the secrecy that surrounds other LMP1 programs.

Now, to be fair, the NCM track is owned and operated by the NCM, which is a non-profit entity that, as I understand it, isn't propped up by GM at all. It's a bit of a misnomer to call it the "Chevrolet test track" when it's really just a circuit available to whoever will pay.

But at the same time, imagine if McLaren took its cars to Maranello to do shakedowns on Ferrari's Fiorano.

*OK.... so GM doesn't have an LMP1 program and isn't a direct competitor against Nissan in that arena, but they are still competitors in the business world.
